Wow! Is Wildstyle here? That makes this thread truly epic! For those uninitiated, prepare for a descent into completely unintelligible beligerent insanity. Or maybe that's already happened, I just read these last two pages. this is great stuff, very funny. Sixela, that monster crack was hilarious and apparently true. I mean, you've brought Wildstyle out of retirement!

Linux, you motherfuckers! Someone's probably already made that joke though.

raapie wrote:yes, I hear a lot of complaints about Mac's service and problems. even with the iPod.

I hope this gets better. the G5 looks interesting but you will need great support on a machine like that and spending big bugs.

for the rest: it's just a machine to me. I don't mind the brand of car I am driving. it doesn't mean anything to me.

I truly hope Linux has the future, since it's not money driven.
Hi Raapie,

I'm really interested in finding out more about this, but at the moment it still seems like something i would need alot of time to learn, and I seem to have spent the best part of the last two years learning new programs and just want to get on with a bit of music for a change, on the other hand if what you're talking about is using a pc with Linux running all these apps like live etc without all the microsoft crap and without all the extra unnecessary services etc then It sounds well worth it.

Do you know much about this? Is this anything to do with Wine or Lindows I've been hearing about? I just had a look at that link but it didn't mean alot to me, how far off having some kind of OS that is quite straight forward to use based on Linix?

Sorry to be a lazy bastard for not reading it myself but I've been trying to do a tune all night that keeps getting hijacked.

cheers

i think both pc's and macs are very similar to eachother now a days. The main issues a while back was that the processors were better at different tasks, not sure on this but someone who has some knowledge of computing i believe the intel chips were better equipped for writing / office applications rather than music or visual, whereas macs were the opposit. Now tho with amd and intel 4 and 64 bit processors it doesnt really matter that much. I think the whole mac vs pc argument is over now, its just woteva u r used to. Oh and also if u want to use the latest Logic, which of course can only be done thru a mac. Other than that theres no difference really.

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky,
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses
All go to the university,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
And there's doctors and there's lawyers
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf-course,
And drink their Martini dry,
And they all have pretty children,
And the children go to school.
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
And they all get put in boxes
And they all come out the same.

And the boys go into business,
And marry, and raise a family,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.

Little boxes on the desktops,
Little platforms built by Bill and Steve,
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a black one and a beige one
A translucent one and a silver one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all work just the same.

And the people love their boxes
They defend them through all adversity,
And they all swear that their boxes,
Little boxes, aren't the same.
And there's networks and there's firewire
And TFT and even USB,
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all work just the same.

And they all play on the internet,
And they love to let their egos fly,
And they all sit in a goldfish bowl,
And the goldfish must be fed.
And there's Admins and there's Sysops
And there's hackers who want the world to see,
And they all sit at their boxes
And they all turn out the same.

And they stroke their little boxes,
And they swear it is for all eternity,
And they worship their little boxes,
But their boxes will soon be dust.
There's a black one and a beige one
A translucent one and a silver one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all work just the same.

Ugh. Leave it to PC zombies to imitate works of creativity, and poorly at that...

PC zombies? Jesus you mean they've started doing them? Shit I knew the police were underfunded, but resorting to zombies?

still, on the bright side, at least they can imitate works of creativity, that's pretty advanced for a zombie
