nothing i say is going to change your mind anyway.
I believe that people who dismiss entire genre's of music, nay, entire continent's musical output are fools. It is especially foolish, when it is clear that the individual making the statement isn't even familiar with the most recognized artists in said genres.
Nothing I say will make you change your mind either. I have explained that I haven't dismissed an entire continents musical output and true I don't know
EVERY artist or researched it in the hope I will find something I like and I don't want to bother. If I happen to come across something that appeals, then I will persue it further.

you can say whatever you want about me being a pedantic fuckwit, i don't care. I'm a pedantic fuckwit with a much broader understanding and appreciation of music than you.
I didn't say you were a pedantic fuckwit, re-read it if you don't believe me and can be bothered. Maybe your tastes are broader than mine, but you can not claim a better understanding of music. Understanding music doesn't require having broader tastes. The fact that I have studied music composition should make it clear that I understand music.

I've already destroyed your broccoli argument before by pointing out that you are not saying you don't like broccoli. You are saying that you don't like vegetables. It is a very different thing.
My broccoli argument was to illustrate that certain things don't appeal and it boils down to taste. Nothing more. You didn't quite address my testicles being pierced point though. Does it mean that if I don't like the idea of my testicles being pierced that I am a narrow minded fuckwit just because I have dismissed it as a life style choice?

I'm not sorry if i've offended you or anyone else.
I am not offended. Just defending my viewpoint. I find it a shame though that you have to resort to insulting remarks when there is no need for that. People who have to resort to abuse have in essence lost the argument. How do you expect someone to take you seriously if you insult them. The natural reaction is to just close up and refuse to listen. I think it is far more effective to make and argue a point in a civilised manner, people tend to take you more seriously and give you a fair go.

anyway, no need to bicker further, i'm sure everyone reading this can tell both of our perspectives just fine at this point. Carry on.
I suggested ages ago to agree to differ. It would be interesting to see who the majority of people agree with on this issue. You or me. But I doubt anyone is going to bother.
Final thing. This to me is another example of the bullshit Ableton forum code of practice. If you don't agree with the regular contributers expect their wrath. It's a very fascist approach. Agree with me or else is in essence what goes on here. So much for being open and broad minded, the very thing you accuse me not of being.
