New Celemony preview --- anyone's seen this?
Ahh, so it's useless in a live recording situation unless you're tracking to different track for each instrument. To bad.noisetonepause wrote:No.. It can't separate one instrument from another instrument. results vary, of course.
Apparently the only limitation is that if two instruments play the same note, their combined sound will be treated as one note. Not such a problem - if two people are playing a bum note then you will want to correct both of them anyway
^^^Can't get the link to work right now. I'll try again later. Thanks for the link. If I could record a middle school band and then correct notes, omg I'll be rich! Ok, not rich, but it certainly is exciting to think of that possibility.

Brilliant. This is how they conveniently leave room for an upgrade.Angstrom wrote:Apparently the only limitation is that if two instruments play the same note, their combined sound will be treated as one note. Err... more like, that's how their algorithm works?LOFA wrote:Brilliant. Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

Actually this should be possible in some form or another. Like they teamed up with AAS for the synths (or like you can buy additional timestretching algorithms for Logic), there could be a co-development to integrate Melodyne into Live.gp23 wrote:Right, come on Ableton. I want this in real-time in Live 8.
The big disatvantage of running Melodyne Plugin in a host is that you can't copy/paste events in the timeline, and if you do 'cut/paste/insert time' instructions in Live's Arrangement view, they won't be reflected in Melodyne Plugin's timeline. So you quite often have to render the edited audio just to be able to arrange conveniently.
I would love to have a direct integration of Melodyne and Live and would pay for it as an option.
Ableton, think about it! Would be a great deal.
