Yeah, but the ones that you see as 'masters' have probably been playing that instrument for many years and nothing else. Maybe even practice 6 hours a day or something.
I know what you mean though.

even if you don't become a guitar expert you will learn important things that can't be easily defined yet make your keyboard playing better. practice every day for half an hour. this also works with painting. when i get burnt out on music i go to my art studio and paint. when i get burnt out on that i go back to music and i always seemed to have learned something from mixing colors that applies to mixing sound. it's all frequencies, music just has the fourth dimension of time to deal with as well. it's a very subconscious sort of learning but there is definitly something to it.
