seriously.
This is fucking nothing. The world needs to stop trying to make everything safe for children and start making kids ready to be adults. I thought it was a fantastic lesson. Mother fucking parents don't teach their kids shit. I hope this boy learned some patience. Fucking coddling gets kids no where. Kids don't know shit and if you never fucking discipline them, they are gonna be fucking useless in the REAL world.

Let me guess: You were disciplined severely by your parents, and "you turned out alright"?aizo wrote: Kids don't know shit and if you never fucking discipline them, they are gonna be fucking useless in the REAL world.
I don't mean this to be a personal attack: that way of talking is an dead give-away in many cases.
Seriously, people need to get a grasp on the reality of the fate of the majority of the world's children...
(Hint --- it has nothing to do with getting an XBox)

There's a great many degrees between misleading your kid about a Christmas present (which he eventually got anyway) and beating the shit out of them, but yeah ok, let's put them at the same level here.
Oh the humanity! Those parents should be thrown in jail.
Maybe take some time on youtube away from the gear porn and tutorials and discover that 80% of the other videos are people getting fucked with or injured.

So that makes it OK. This kind of logic, well why not then beat your own children? since most children are treated badly we should what??beats me wrote:There's a great many degrees between misleading your kid about a Christmas present (which he eventually got anyway) and beating the shit out of them, but yeah ok, let's put them at the same level here.

Poor logic my friend.
Physical abuse is worse in many cases, but mental abuse is not somehow OK because of that, period. Come on man, misleading is not even close to laughing at a kid who was fooled.
I'm saying there's bigger evils and cruelty in the world, and I guess some people on here are saying those are probably caused by people whose parents gave them fake gifts and then laughed about it. I wonder what Hitler's childhood Christmases were like. For that matter, I also wonder what the Bush family Christmas was like.Machinesworking wrote:So that makes it OK. not really, I learned my lesson many times. But some shit didn't stick too. I didn't fear my parents I respected them and still do. They worked hard as fuck but didn't take it out on me. But if I wasted what little I got or didn't appreciate it, I got a rude awakening. Discipline isn't the back of someone's hand. It's teaching your rat that the world doesnt give two fucks about you and you need to fucking get used to it.Machinate wrote:Let me guess: You were disciplined severely by your parents, and "you turned out alright"?aizo wrote: Kids don't know shit and if you never fucking discipline them, they are gonna be fucking useless in the REAL world.

for the record being cruel to anyone isn't fucking cool kids or adults. but kids need to be woke the fuck up because it stands right now they are huge piles of shit.

OK, as I'm not able to get down to see my family this morning, and I really do think this is about as important of an issue as there ever was, I'll elaborate.beats me wrote:I'm saying there's bigger evils and cruelty in the world, and I guess some people on here are saying those are probably caused by people whose parents gave them fake gifts and then laughed about it. Cruelty within your family does not, and will not make you stronger when people are cruel to you. There's a total disconnect here that none of you are getting. What cruelty within your family does is make it seem common, and normal for people you love to behave badly towards you. You raise a child without needing to fulfill some impulse to insult, ridicule, play nasty jokes on, or otherwise behave badly towards that child, and teach that child to basically not give any time of day to people who do, and your kid will not look for love and companionship with assholes who are abusive like that, and will not be emotionally hurt by people like that. The other way, to use whatever means you deem necessary to discipline the kid, well they simply do not learn good behavior that way, they learn to play by the rules, and abuse power, whenever and however they can. You want to toughen up your kid for the outside world? give them a strong sense of ethics and some karate lessons. You give a strong sense of ethics by having one yourself, there's really no way around that.
To answer your non question, bigger evil and cruelty is fueled quite simply by smaller evils. In that people step in line and do the work if the papers and orders are in place, especially if their sense of cruelty is mixed in with their sense of family.
