Track output can be routed post-FX in Live, should apply to the Looper device as well

I was thinking the squares/rectangles were just showing you the scrolling of the loop for visuals. they are obviously larger so that you can see them at a distance as you might be while live looping.

first-loop-sets-tempo will be an amzing feature for starting live impros with Live. I always saw being stuck into some preselected bpm as a major flaw of live.

well, i am interested in clips because i would currently take clips in and out of the mix as i go.

so i could record 6 tracks and then drop out 3 and 5 only to bring 5 back in and solo 4 later.

effects on separate clips are the other reason..but i use dummy tracks too, so that isnt an issue.


i would love it if a group of tracks could be assigned to a looper. if i could sometimes trade unlimited loops for discreet recording location, i would be happy. (i am still fine with the looper as described, so long as i can get the loops into clips after a set at the very least.

I don't really understand how the synching thing works, is it calculated from transients or something? So for instance if I played a one note drone and looped it how would ableton know what the tempo was?

Looks like a great device but it seems like there could be some shortcomings with it.

Change patches in Guitar Rig and control other elements of Live.

I'm sure you could route it out to another audio track to create clips, using your standard up and down scene and clip launch buttons to create more clips and then mainpulate via your Akai!

Although its set up for one switch it'd probably be a lot easier to use more still. There appears to be no Redo function but that can probably be added now with Max.

Edit: Are there even any reasonably priced one-switch foots-switches out there?

This four-switch one is relatively cheap but still a bit pricey considering you can get the vastly superior FCB1010 for only a little bit more.

It only requires one pedal, but you can assign other pedals to the wee transport buttons too - if you fancy direct access to stop / overdub, etc. or also to control the delete and the double/halve length functions which are not tied to the "big button"

FCB is still the weapon of choice
