yeah, 399usd, 399GBP and presumably 399Euro. - aka, the Brits get shafted.

another lemur user here...

when it comes to tweaking sounds in a musical way, doing a performance with a filter, delay etc. I still stick to "harware" controllers. just feels better for me & the response of the lemur objects isn´t too fast imho...

for all other purposes the lemur is just perfect. no other controller will give you that much flexibility. Specially with the the new v2 software.
"programming" the lemur is really easy & scripting is also not too tough if you´re a little bit into that...

If the response is too slow, why don't you modify the Attributes and change the MIDI Range to make it better? The JazzEditor allows you to do pretty much anything. I've never found the sensitivity of the Lemur surface lacking although I will say that sometimes I need a touch sensitive endless encoder (like the ones on the Kore 2 controller) because the Lemur knobs just aren't that great on a touch screen.

Lemur is still too much for me. It is technology that will be replaced at a fraction of the price one day.

Another consideration is having an incredibly expensive to replace piece of gear to depend on. Spilled drinks, out of warranty malfunctions, theft, etc...

If you can barely afford to buy it now, how would it be to have to replace it at full price, just to get back to normal?

This is the one big reservation I have about the Lemur. If I buy it and next week Behringer makes a knock off for $199 I'm gonna kick myself. On the other hand if I got the APC40 now (well, then) and then a cheaper alternative comes out, then I could very well get both for less than the price of the Lemur!

Yeah, yeah, it's true. I guess the question should be more specific. Like which one would be better for a live looping setup? Machinates example looks good.

Hahahaha you keep telling yourself the Lemur is lame!!! It's clearly obvious that you have no idea just how useful a fully customizable musical interface can be. Maybe you think it's lame because you wouldn't be able to fill up more than one page of controls because your projects are simple? A Lemur with the addition of some hardware that has knobs, extra buttons, and extra sliders etc. makes for a very powerful stage and studio setup. If you think it's lame because it's expensive and you can't afford it then, well, learn to save your money for the gear that will allow you to work faster. While only practice, not buying gear, will make you a better musician, there are better options available than a keyboard and mouse or a basic non Automap controller.

Sorry guy but the Lemur is anything but lame. I'll assume you've never had the time to sit down and actually experience the capabilities.

Totally off topic, but my friend ryansupak from this forum is such a dork that he bought one, decided he didn't like it, and then forgot to return it and had in his closet for several months.

He's a programming genius, so other parts of his brain suffer.

Hopefully one day my tracks will be as intricate and complex as yours to be worthy of a Lemon- errr- Lemur. I may even buy a black turtle neck and an iPhone too. But for now I'll make do with my Nocturn.
