APC40: What function have the 8 red record/armed pads?

L8 Suite, M4L, Maschine 1.1.

I wonder if the bi-directional control is user mappable as well? Like if I chose one of the pan knobs to control an effect parameter, will the LEDs change accordingly?

Well like the clip launch buttons change color depending on the state of the clip, so if I assign a clip launch button to something other than a clip, like some device then I'm not sure if it would "recognize" effect on and off for example and reflect it accordingly.

bi-directional means:

push button send function, function send back function, for example change the light. where is the problem? second is a add-function.

for example the new midi-mapping of traktor pro works in this way. at this time, i don_t what's with ableton.

Well that's just it. We don't know if send back function to the APC will know that the function for device off will be to change the light from green to red or something.

so i believe you can map the track and device control with ableton midi mapping, but the clip-buttons you only can map with max.
