Actually, it would be really cool if Live 8 had an option to include different output plugins like Winamp and Audacity. Then if you need Live to output a certain filetype, you'd just install whatever extension you needed.

It would probably be a support nightmare though. Lord knows people have enough problems with vst and au. :D

Yes I can convert it to MP3 after I export it from Live, but this is just a hassle I don't need – especially if your MP3-converter of choice is iTunes.
Noone should have to be restricted to iTunes if they dont want to.

Audacity is free and far superior in my opinion.

exporting to mp3 using an external editor is an additional step that SHOULD be inside live. Reaper's solution is the best - get the open source lame encoder and drop it in Live's install directory. Then the export options show MP3 as an option. I see NO REASON why this isn't already included in a $500+ DAW application.

As FR go, I should have thought this was also quite a quick/easy one to do...
iMac Retina 4K 3.3Ghz i7, 16Gb RAM
Live Suite 9.7.1 + Reason 9.1 + Pianoteq 5 + Sibelius 8.5

Listen on Soundcloud

seems so... and +1 to the feature request... it is not just easier to do, but reduces the number of needless files that then require housekeeping.

I asked about this a few versions ago. Got the same response? It doesn't need to be in there! I said it should be like most other audio programs, they have an OPTION to render to the format(s) supported by them This should have been added in, or as someone posted as an optional folder that we can drop whatever freeware/shareware utility into it and have it show up in Live to render to (select format): <-- now that would be nice.

Don't expect it. Most folks were against this request even when I was asking for it back probably in Version 5.

I don't know why anyone would be against it – it's not like you have to use it if it's there :?

yes i don't see a problem at all if the option's there.
i miss it. who cares about sound quality if you just want to send an idea to somebody over the internet?

hey dude, i share your woes. In itunes preferences there is a selection you can mark under "advanced". it's called "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library"

uncheck that and you're good to go.

Now when you actually want to add files to your library, just drop them where they should go, and then add them to iTunes from that location. As in, get the files, create a folder that says, "Jekblad Beats" in your itunes folder, drop the files in there. Then open itunes and drag all those files in.

i'm also open to anyone who has a better system then that... 8O
