That would be great innovation.

That would be "grime" - big in the UK for like half a decade now.

Bigger chain bling
-> 22" rims with "spinnerz" on gold chains the new trend
-> broken necks.

More innovative vocal effects. The chop and screw method was cool, but overused and perhaps misused. Maybe some wah-wah effects and beat repeat type of stuff would be awesome. More live bands and less sampling.

Also, BRING BACK LYRICISM!

I like to see rappers coming back with skills
and really show they can write and spit!
Also i hope that some dope productions coming out
and not not some cheesy stuff with fucking rave techno sounds
from ten years ago!
Don't get me wrong here,i am big fan of good tech house, minimal and
good electronic music,i mean the children rave techno sounds we had
years ago!

more Tupac and Biggie, less Kanye and Diddy. KRS-Two will pop up sooner or later.

ban all hip hop presets on all gear. ban all 'mad phat yo yo shiznit' marketeering.

Hiphop or any form of it would be 5000X better if the term "hater" or "hating" was eradicated. It seems less people critique hiphop music just because of these terms(at least in the hiphop world). If I was to say to TI(not that he is hiphop....just an example) hey that new song you did with Rhianna is shit and there is nothing more annoying in your song than hearing "hey...hey...hey" a million times. Of course I'm just hating. I'm just jealous of his success.

It seems NO ONE tells these guys and gals when they made a shit track. They just shove it down your throat until you love it.

Hiphop reached it's pinnacle years ago. IMO, It was at it's best when it was raw and dirty.

Edan was beat-juggling two rock records with one hand while holding his mic for rhyming at the same time... did half his set that way.

Then he got out a delay peddle and was glitching out his lyrics for a few tracks...

Then he had his mate Daggah up on stage with him...

His lyrics and delivery were dope. seriously bad-ass MC - let alone the mad skillz.

Nothing has been the same since i saw him in 2005.

Here is an example...

1) More vinyl, less Pro-Tools
2) More GZA
3) More RZA (f**k it; more Wu Tang!)
4) Less lyrical dirge; I really don't need to hear the same stuff that NWA were doing 15...20... years ago rehashed and re-spat, only worse.

I don't listen to much 'new' hip-hop as it really doesn't please me. If there were more "producers" (god I hate that term) who actually took the time to find decent samples/drums/musicians and not just drench one loop in rivers of tarnce synths and wobbly bass, I think music in general would be better.

Last hip-hop record I bought? Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. GENIUS (if a shade dated now)

The introduction of UN peacekeepers around all studios on the planet with instructions to shoot to kill anyone even thinking of making hip-hop - that IMHO would be an excellent innovation ;)
