Maybe I misunderstand your statement, if you upgrade 6 lite or LE to 7 suite its $659 boxed, $559 DL'd. Then you get a free upgrade (download) to 8 suite.

Where does the $519 come from?

If I wait until 8 Suite comes out and I upgrade from Live 6 LE, I will pay $519 for the boxed version. If I upgrade to the boxed version of 7 Suite now I would pay $659.... get it? Ableton seems to be giving a huge discount to those that skip versions??? Check the upgrade pricing for 8 and tell me if you have the same amounts.

I think I am missing something. Where do you see the V8 upgrade prices? For me there is nothing listed in the shop, or my license account?

If the software is adequate, then don't upgrade. I didn't ugprade to 7 because I've been just fine on 6 and there weren't any features I wanted to use. There's a reason many artists use old ass equipment... It works for them and it does the job. Nobody is forcing you to keep buying a new version every year.

The link to the Live 8 upgrade prices is hidden away at the bottom of one of the product announces, this is where you need to go (you need to be logged in to your account for it to work as it calculates the prices based on your existing licenses):

Yup. 6LE to Boxed 8 Suite $519 ($449 DL)

Now THATS got me tempted, esp with a coupon still in hand.
