@ Rave, I was asking you cos they dont support ableton or list it on their site. so, as someone who uses it regularly I figured you can give me better insight than the marketing materials. . .

Tascam us 2400 looks great to me. 24 faders! seem to be very rare these days.

Yeah, the tascam thing looks interesting although possibly it's on it's way out. .

Ok, so rave, i am checking out the videos for the Euphonix, but it's all Logic which was why i was asking you about how it works with live.

Does it work in the same way as in the video? i.e. can i use it to load up a plug without using a mouse, then edit parameters?

Sorry to keep bugging you about it but you are the only source of info, they dont sem to support live so I am curious abou how it woks. I tried phoning them today and they weren't ery much cop, the guy i spoke to didn't know much about ableton

From your earlier post it seems that you are just using it for the flying faders. . .

I am also wondering how it would integrate with 3rd party plugs, I use Sonalksis and the URS channel strip pro for eq. Am thinking that the mackie might be a better option for integration. . . Off to try and find more info. . ..

I tried different kind of controllers since Live 3 !
The first one was a Digidesign R1 MIDI controller, without any possibility of MIDI assignement (only on Channel 1, every knobs are assigned on the basic MIDI implementation chart) : it was great because the faders were 100 mm long and it's rock-solid ! But you have to plug a power supply and there's no USB port ! Maybe one day, I have to circuit-bend it (if anyone have suggestions, or anything about this possibility)
After that, I used a UC17 which is great for Live gigs (especially as DJ-styled behaviors) but less controls as expected.
Then, a Oxygen 8 (great also) and a Alesis Photon 25 (great knobs but no MIDI output available on Mac)
I used once a BCR2000 that crashes my Mac all the time so I sold it on the web. Since then, I'm a bit angry about Behringer's devices...
And then, I like my Bitstream 3x (but it's pretty hard to program) because it's rock-solid, plenty of knobs and faders, features like arpegiator or MIDI LFO, a joystick... Just Great !
And the last one : a MPD24 just for drums and keyboard features... Not bad.
If you're looking for something cheap and practical, have a look on Ebay on Novation K-Station (yeah : it's a synth) as both sound generator and pretty good MIDI controller. I tried it in my studio and it works so well...

check out bcf mackie videos on youtube before spending loads of cash on that euphonix, which does pretty much the same thing.

except for the lcd internal feedback ofc...
