No single CD collection, but these are some of the best commercial CD comps, with probably the best sound you'll find:

DJ Pogo Presents Block Party Breaks Vol. 1: Classics Original Breaks & Rare Funk 45's - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Presents-Block- ... 0000259AF/

DJ Pogo Presents Block Party Breaks Vol. 2 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Presents-Block- ... 00005208E/
This one has The Winstons "Amen Brother" taken from vinyl but sounding clean - well from what I can remember it did.

DJ Pogo Presents the Breaks Vol. 1: Compiled By DJ Pogo/Original B-Boy Street Funk & Block Party Anthems - http://www.amazon.co.uk/DJ-Pogo-Present ... 000024114/
This ones not as good as the above two, but not bad.

Kurtis Blow Presents the History of Rap Vol. 1 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kurtis-Blow-Pre ... 00000343D/

Super Breaks Vol. 1: Essential Funk Soul & Jazz Breakbeats - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Super-Breaks-Vo ... 000025889/
Super Breaks Vol. 2: Essential Jazz Soul & Funk Breakbeats - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Super-Breaks-Vo ... 00004SD1X/
Super Breaks Vol. 3: Essential Funk Soul & Jazz Breakbeats - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Super-Breaks-Vo ... 00005UPL2/

Wow!

The Amen break. That's Old School baby. I have my copy, and it's old.

Here is a good story about the Amen break:

There is a compilation of all the Ultimate Breaks & Beats albums, costs about £40 but it does contain all of them in AIFF format as well so no need to rip anything:

Someone ripped loads of classic breaks, they originally posted them on Dogs On Acid individually but someone on KVR packed them all up in to a single download:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... &start=150

The single download isn't perfect, there appears to be some bits missing and some duplication. I've been trying to tidy it up and create a new complete single download but haven't found the time to finish it yet.

best break thread ever!! Very high quality wavs and rexs. Go towards the end and work backwards to save some time. Some of the first posts have broken links but others have compiled them and provided links later on. Amazing history lesson as well. Properly labeled. I go to these first most of the time!!!

It's pretty much every single classic break.
even more helpful response (check this thread)

(and yes of course The Winstons - Amen Brother is on there.)

edit: also search 'breaks2dl' on the grid at DOA.

break collections put together by Paris, a rapper hailing from SF who worked with Public Enemy and DJ Shadow in their early days - his albums were fairly controversial at the time

I have the second one, but the quality on it always has me looking for the other two

I remember hearing a lot of PR about him in the early 90's. I purchased one of his discs (with high hopes) and thought there was quality hang ups as well.......
