Reading into the Akai APC40 more carefully there are no bank buttons on it. So even more reason to introduce a feature like the above one.

As well as sorting out a big issue with Abletons MIDI map mode they'd be adding much more functionality to the APC40. Giving us even more reasons to buy Abletons / Akai's new flagship product.

This is really important thing - be possible to save custom mappings in presets

Yes I second this. I find it frustrating to repeat assigning midi to the same external vst parameters or even just the inbuilt Ableton stuff I use every time I work on a different song.

would be great to be able to save a VST or instrument with your own midi mappings so that it is not necessary to re-map evry time you load another instance.
