i was just searching how to do this too because ableton doesnt seem to allow this. I also put in a suggestion on the centrecode forum. i do live dub mixing with ableton and mutes and solos are very important. I need to be able to record and automate both of them, mutes AND solos.

ive found a workaround, to use the isotonik BCRXL and launchsync scripts/plugins (would possibly work with their other scripts?), if you press solo on the BCR while recording then it seems like launchsync records and automates the solos!!
