Any one had experience with the JBL LSR4300 series ?
watched a vid of producer chris lake using them....and well im a sucker for flashing lights...lol...they look good and not too big as i only have a small room.
I definately need to make a decent monitor purchase asap, so i would be interested to hear what others are using. Lets hear you recommendations and any feedback on bad choices.
Thanks

I can sum it up for you: Adam, Dynaudio, or Genelec. I have the Genelec 8030's, which I think are particularly great because of their small size, but they sound anything but small.

Ninja,
Just had a quick look at the Adam A7's price is maybe top end what id want to spend and they look very industrial but its the sound that counts.
The dynamic 6A are well out of my price range at the moment.
The Genelec 8040A and the 8030A look sweet but id have to sell a kidney and well i havent finished abusing them yet.
Thanks for the heads up...im gonna put them on ebay searchs over the next few months and see if any deals come up.

why'd you price the bm6a's? you said you have a small room, the bm5a's would be better suited, cost ~ the same as the A7's ( bm5a's retail a little less, actually), and have a slightly less "industrial" look... i rather enjoy my bm5a's, can't fault them, really. i've heard nothing but praise for the A7's, ass well, didn't get a chance to test them when i was shopping around, the pair at the banjo central weren't hooked up, so i couldn't check them against the bm5a's, which i had been checking out for a couple of years. one thing i liked about the A7's was that the power and vol are on the front (although the bm5a's have NO vol knob, only a cut/boost switch), but since i couldn't hear them, that wasn't a good enough reason to buy them, esp considering i find them
very ugly- i'm shallow like that

but you are right, the sound is what counts. and to some, rokit's sound fine <shrugs shoulders> i say spend the little bit of extra loot, not everyone who drives a ferrari is a formula one driver

I used to sell some gear, and the BM5A's were the minimum I would let anyone serious walk out the door with - they'll whip ass in the pepsi taste challenge with any speaker within double their price range, and of course just kill anything below. You really just need to go to a shop and listen to them, against anything they've got, you'll see what I mean.
to me that applies to the genelec 8000 series... only top up is PMC.
