So, i've made a Rack some time ago, which covers pretty much the joy's of nice wonky-dub-chords.
feed it into sends, add efx (or not..), tweak, abuse, have fun with it.

this rack was made in Live7, so no way to load it in Live 6.
But hey, why not just build it for yourself after the picture ?
should be no problem.

Thanks for the rack ...

Since peeps are posting their dubby mixes, here is another one. Lots of sounds from Moritz Von Ozwald (aka, basic channel, burial mix, etc.) ... enjoy

[art] wrote:how do you create the dubby sounds in dub-tech and ambient dub techno, like the sound of thinner, silent season, its like chords twanging away but its all drenched in fx... i love that sound...

is there any book out there on dub fx techniques or something? can this be done with virtual instruments>?

maybe this is the wrong forum, is there a technical forum out there devoted to this sound/style?

i really would love to create this type of music

what soft synths are best to use?

best,
Hi [art],

there is a very good video by the Covert Operators on how to make a dub rack in Live http://vimeo.com/860391

Hope this help

my best dub tip (use with caution)

on your delay send track , right click and enable send. To put it another way, if your delay is on send a, right click on its return track and enable send a. Increase the send level so that it feedsback on itself but very careful as this can blow your speakers or ear drums very quickly.
I have mine set with a ping pong, into an auto filter (set to band pass) into a limiter. Tweaking the filter brings out the dub, but go easy on the resonance.

If you have not tried a real feedback loop like this before I highly reccomend that you do 8)

Actually while I'm here does anyone know how to use the saturator as a limiter? I seem to recall that being discussed. Is it just a case of reducing the output?

nopes. it's an instrument rack right? i'm loading into live 8 btw

i know i can just see the rack and copy it, but it's so much more fun to drag it in. Not the end of the world tho
