tapco is crap, the only thing mackie about this is the mackie label same with the low line of yamaha analog desks and stuff, only thing yamaha there is the printed name... those products have nothing in common more then the printed name of the "mother" company on them...

and by the way tapco was "invented", the brand name! by mackie to cut a share of the behringer crap market. no other reason, just ask a mackoid!
they are not afraid to tell people, cause it has nothing to do with mackie design / engineering / quality, that all said the mackie quality is all gone long time ago... sadly.

tapco: same league as behringer... utter rubbish. waste of money.

I would highly suggest the Duet still. The Analog to Digital converters are vastly superior too anything under $1500. You WILL hear a huge difference in sound, and isn't that more important than routing convenience? I would rather unplug and replug an instrument than my recordings sound like a blanket has been thrown over them.

but what I am looking are tools for live perfomance and gigs and I need 3 ins at least!

In that case your on the right track. Those interfaces should be fine for gigging.
