It doesn't have a Pro Tools splash screen when I start it up. I've been complaining about this since version 5. It's embarrassing when I fire it up in front of Classic Rock musicians.

Scroll wheel implementation seems to be a no brainer by now. Without it, more toys seems almost pointless to me, since for every new Live Device I will have to click and drag that much more.

Whereas, if I could change parameters with the scroll wheel alone, like in Zebra2 or Sylenth1, I would buy Live 8 the day it is issued. But at this point, I may hold off a year. For me, it makes that much difference.

Live is really bad at making #1 chart toppers. I've only managed a few of them, and I've been working with Live for years!

I wish they'd really get cracking on that for version 9.

Scroll wheel + customizeable key commands and macro actions. Once you get used to having this, Live feels so slow and cumbersome with the way it forces you to do things.

honestly ableton has never made me angry.. ever... this program has never let me down, even under insane situations..

but the fact that they dont offer at least the option of warping the 'old way' as well as the new way has got to go down as the first time this program has actually made me angry since i started using it.

change is good - i get it. but there's probably a bunch of people who agree that even though you can make something better you sometimes shouldn't throw away the old idea..

all the other new toys and stuff rock - finding the vocoder a little lacking in modulation paramaters, but over all great stuff except making me feel like i lost my favorite feature of all

Exactly. WHAT WOULD TALENTLESS DJ'S USE. Focus on that. WHAT WOULD JESUS USE TO DJ?

I feel your pain my friend, I feel your pain. I also vote for skinnable effects on Live 10, and please include a Waves skin.

+1 (although the 'looper' is going to solve MANY problems for me... LIVE DRUM LOOPS!)

the amazing thing is that I'm currently reviewing my tutorial videos to see what needs updating and despite Live 8 probably seeing the most features added of any version yet, the vast majority of the core stuff hasn't changed at all. Aside from the little groove pool icon, and other occasional visual clues, in most of the videos involved with using the core features of the program the Live 7 videos don't need to change

I realize that maybe one of these things is available in 8, but I was too busy finding workarounds to try out the beta.

Notator / notation view option in stead of piano roll

...like its missing an erase key when loop recording midi in real-time... witch in my opinion destroys the workflow

(all hardware midi sequencers (like an MPC) have an erase key witch let you erase events on the fly when loop recording)

IMO, the only thing really lacking is the raw audio editing and loop recording (take comping). For doing things like drawing out clicks in waveforms etc, Live just doesn't have any good tools for this.

Rendering down?

I hear that rendering down directly from Live produces inferior results to exporting a "multitrack" to Reaper / Logic etc, and rendering a final mix within those instead.
