I just did this and it works great, this will really open up the set to get off the time line...thanks so much. One thisng is to try different settins with the global quantize as you can really get a quick response from the no quantize setting. Thanks again!

Great idea for live controlling of single channel video, but like the OP I can't get the clips to generate the right info. Probably my lack of knowledge of AL. Works fine generating note from external music keyboard on all channels, but same note on clip doesn't do it. Likewise I can activate both clip and locator to external note but it doesn't work backwards; clip doesn't re-transmit activation code to locator. Easiest way for me is to set the locators' activators to keys on external keyboard via a different MIDI channel. Then just switch channels & use note keys. It would make sense to set a clip's outgoing MIDI channel and use notes to trigger locators without conflicting with incoming (musical) MIDI notes. I wonder if a clip can send CC messages? I see it can send PC messages; maybe this will do the job, but it must mean editing a config file I presume, as you can't edit the MIDI map listings. Interesting topic for a newcomer such as myself, anyway.
