Congrats to Ableton for this great release. I feel my money is deserved and this does not happen much. Quality will crack the crisis. Quality is the new crack

I am doing everything I can to keep up this trend, as Live has been my major source of income for these last few months, and an increasing form of second income since the start of last year. So, I had no problem deciding to purchase 8, and I will have even less choice in the decision to purchase Max for Live. But, the boxed suite was my own little indulgence

Now to keep up this trend (as I turn off Live and jump back into Max.)

and for my first ever post on the ableton boards, I will document my purchase:

click, click, click, click, typing, click, ROCK!! DOWNLOADING LIVE 8 SUITE BOX!!!! now waiting, waiting, waiting...

oh I get it. it's taking so long because the boxes are really slow moving through the interwebs. damn capitalists and their short-sell orders clogging up all the webs my LIVE 8 SWEET BOX needs to travel through....

so my final damage was $600.72 shipped. what do you think? I went from a Free copy of Live Lite to the big daddy for that price? Ableton does a hell of job making you feel like you got a deal with all that itemizing and pseudo-discounting on the purchase page eh?

OH and i posted the following on the CDM (createdigitalmusic.com) site to make me feel better. It should make you feel better, if you, like me, just dropped mad money on Suite 8 Box too:

....a few interesting facts that you guys might not know regarding differences in the Ableton Live 8 variations (please correct me if i’m wrong anywhere):

- Suite 8 (download and box) both come with 1600 presets in the forms of drum and instrument racks. These presets are not in the standard versions of Live 8.

- Suite 8 (box) is actually downloadable for immediate use after you pay

- Suite 8 (box) is apparently the ONLY version that ships with: Session Drums, Cycling 74’s “experimental loops” (440MB worth), and Zero-G loops (400 more loops).

- Suite 8 (box) and Live 8 (box) are the only versions that ship with EIC 2(essential instrument collection 2).

Taking out the contraction just brought such EMPHASIS.

Clearly, Live 8 friggin rules. Just use the "no contractions" preset, OR put a "random" midi plugd on your contractions.

How much do you have to pay for the upgrade to Live 8 Suite?

thanks but no - because i only have Live 7

i am thinking about going from L7 Standard to L8 Suite but i want to know if Suite users get milked even more when upgrading

edit: to be fair, 300 Euro (which is my upgrade price) for the whole shebang, well Suite download version, plus a 30 Euro coupon is a hell of a deal
but i also got a really crappy job and quite a bit of debt...

I went from L7 to sweet Suite 8, I think that's the deal with the most value and you get the instant gratification of immediate download(well, after seven tries at least). I paid $319, that's a helluva deal. The equivalent of one decent softsynth.
As far as your financial situation... screw it! That's what the tone of this thread is all about. The whole capitalist financial system is gonna sink, ass up just like the Titanic. So you may as well have fun and go down fiddlin' away.
