everything (i'm just using the nocturn to control VSTs) works great for me, except the resolution of the speed dial for selecting presets. it's jumpy - pretty much impossible to click up/down and get the preset to go p/down by one place. it usually jumps 2, sometimes 3 places. this makes it pain in the ass to use!

not sure whether my unit is faulty - i've contacted novation support...

i could almost assure you that it is faulty, like every other one. the speed dial is "poopy shits"



@deejay is the nocturn your only controller? make sure your recording into arrangement view with the global rec. button. ableton won't record automation into session view.

the "true noobs" tape job. they seem so useful, im tempted to play with them, but then i say, oh yeah-they suck.

Its the pot pickup mode...I had the same issue (not a problem since its an option). Disable it at Automap>Settings>Pot Pickup mode. Tell me if it works

I use it (and love it) with my dance company processing sounds live. It work great for me!

How bizzare - i have recorded plenty of autimation in sessoin view. just hit record, play and tweak away.
