Every now and then I set up a few analogues, but most of them need a damn good capacitor replacement so they all live in storage. So now I have a very standard ITB set-up of Live, a BCR, and FCB and a crappy Edirol 49 key controller (I must replace this!), Fireface and Adam A7s. You can achieve so much with software these days that it's possible to get by like this perfectly well.
I use a selection of software boxes-and-wires apps to create the 'modular' stuff I need, and the one-off synths. Although they may not be as much fun as a real modular setup it's a lot easier to recall. A trade-off I'm willing to take for now.
I find that ITB lets me focus on songwriting a bit more. If you leave me alone in a room of analogues I just make audio noodles for hours on end!
