We had lots of problems in france, too, fortunately we got delicious red wine to forget them, hahaha. The south where I live is way more laid back, though.

I never put a single foot in the US yet, so I'll wait for that before making any -serious- comment !
I think both opinions French people have about the US, and Americans have about France are mainly stereotypes, and very few people really know what they're talking about (looking at your french, you might be one of them, cause it's not bad at all) . I've spent one year in Australia, which according to many people is similar to the US and I had a wicked time there
