When can I come over to pick up my pants shirts and shoes... BTW would it be too much to ask if you could wash them first?

Weird... I wonder if the person had too many martinis...

WTF? Johnisfaster??

That is some truly bizarre shit. Kalifornia eh? Scratch that off my list for places to live. (Tone living there was already a big negative  ).

Get an alarm system, get a dog, get a savings account.

Jeezus!!! What the hell?!
Yeah it was a wild ride. He couldn't get into our place so he went next door and tore the door off the hinges. He was all cracked out, we found out that he had just got out of jail that morning. I guess he woke up in the same place where he started, except this time without his clothes.

Really, though, I'd rather face the probably single instance of having to deal with all of that than come home to a burgled house, or to have to face shooting the burglar if I were home during the break-in, which likely would happen should I ever be home during a burglary.

Seriously dude, get a savings account. Saving money in a drawer to buy a house is just kind of off. In a big way.

Like others on here I am somewhat shocked by your meh attitude towards security and keeping house down payment worthy money in a drawer. Locking doors should never be a habit you break. If I lived in a house surrounded by an electric fence next door to the police department I'd still be anal about locking the doors.

As advertised on this forum, I was the victim of a robbery attempt while we were home last Sunday. I'm so overly paranoid about these things even with no prior experiences that before we even moved into the place the first thing I did was put key locks on my bedroom and closet doors, and I mean real keys, not those stupid screwdriver unlocking mechanisms. The main reason our robbery wasn't that successful was because there really isn't anything of value outside our bedrooms, which I even lock when I'm in the room (force of habit). The most concerning item stolen was my roommate's keys which he left out on the bar…something I would never do. I think I always have this feeling in the back of my head that we are on the verge of becoming a Mad Max wasteland at any moment.

Hopefully this experience changes your attitude. If I was a career criminal I would do a summer tour of all these small security apathetic towns. Sure these events rarely happen but it only takes once. Spend an afternoon watching the Discovery ID channel and almost all shows start with "A normally quite town was shattered when……" That's a statistic you don't want to be part of.

it was $1000. in single dollar bills, which looks like a ton of money bit it's only 1k. yeah 1k is a lot but when I say "saving to buy a house" people might thing we are talking 20k or something.

only reason I haven't deposited it is cause it seems weird to go to the bank with 1000 1 dollar bills :)

A bank is just about the only place that it isn't weird to go into with $1000 in singles. But, you've been through enough scrutiny. I'm glad all is well and I'm sorry you had to clean up after a person like that.

From another perspective.

Perhaps it was a syncronicity that you weren't at home, but not for you, but for the poor sap who couldn't control his bodily functions.
It's bad enough that he's vomiting, but to such a degree that he shits himself, well fuck, that's a pretty bad day in anyone's opinion. Now imagine he is knocking on you're door and you're home, he's like " excuse me sir, I've a bit too much of the bubbly and was wondering if I might use you're toiletries to freshen up" and wham he's throwing up and shits himself all at the same time. 8O
Now he might have realized his none gentleman like conduct right then and there unable to fully cope with the humility that life has set upon him that he becomes a Dj or something worse...

Now the fact that he didn't steal from you except a few cloth, which is pardonable given the situation, and yes he did enter you're home, and sleep in you're bed, it could have been worse.
It could have been God working miracles for this poor lost soul, giving you an excuse to be somewhere else, letting him learn a valuable lesson and you as well....

We are all one... except DJs..... and clowns

and ass probing aliens........fucking aliens
