Zoom is amazing, I find it hard to believe that they implemented that whole vector drawing engine and then all we get is a little box to set zoom in Preferences? They're probably cooking up another Ableton special... it's getting very crammed in the device strip we'll have step sequencers soon, we need some Live zoomin actionnnnnnnn...!!!!!!!

not bad.. seems to only work if your preferences page is already on the 'look feel' tab

was trying the 'fast' version and got up to 200% and as low as 50% but the closest i could get to 100% was 98% or 107% - is there anyway to get back to 100% without opening up preferences manually and changing it?

It's a shitty hack.... but you do get to zoom.
Anyway to get to exactly 100% you press the "\" key.
You didn't read the manual!

The script tries to click the look feel tab, but on different screen sizes, the coordinate in the AHK may be wrong.

On mine,
MouseClick left, 25, 45 ; Click "Look/Feel" Tab
works better.

I did fast and slow, the source is included feel free to tweak it's a shitty flickering hack, but hey, you get to zoom "[" and "]" and reset to 100% "\" so not bad after all. It is quite cool for Operator, Vocoder, Sampler will be nice when the blurryness is gone in Live 9

I appreciate this effort, I really do. I just think this is a ridiculous "feature" to have and then bury it inside preferences. This is almost as classic as burying the Edit button inside project management. Of course nothing takes the cake like not having mouse scroll wheel zooming, but I digress.

Anyways, the point is that being able to zoom in and out is a great idea, but not having it mapable or easily accessible is dumb.

hey Nebulae, do you know of any workarounds for the mouse scroll wheel zooming issue? I had the free little mousewheel.exe app someone posted on these boards years ago, which worked great for 6 and 7, but not 8--any workarounds?

The dowload link still works, guess people are still getting it. Well the open browser shortcut once upon a time was only possible by using a Hotscript by yours truly, (=me for non-english speakers) hope Appleton takes note and gives us a shortcut, and can we have shortcuts for EVERYTHING ELSE too? I was on Logic in 1996 and I could program anything and everything as a keyboard shortcut, clicking on stuff with a mouse to execute commands is amateur city.

I do have to agree that the idea of needing to use autohotkeys to do this stuff is a joke.
On version 8 already, TEN YEARS in - simple things like key assigns should have been in Ableton Live YEARS ago.
