yup, depends if they are using the 'roland scale' middle= C3 or 'yamaha scale' middle= C4

try to check in the PadKONTROL editor... i manually set up all my scales there.
yeah I've used the PK editor to manually set my scales, but it still happens. The notes reflected are all transposed down by an octave. The editor seems straightforward enough, yet I can't find any specific setting in it that would be affecting this. Might just be a bug?

^^^ hmmm, strange...

on which version of live are you? but hey you said it happens in logic as well, right? weird.

i mapped all my scenes (different type of scales i use) with the editor and it's fine, logic 8.0.2 live 8.0.3, reason 4, all good here.

If scene one is not working with Ableton it's probably the pad. Re-transmit your first scene. I used my pad with Live 7 and now 8. It works like a dream. I drum, I have about 6 scales on various scenes, I use it for basic transport controlling and workflow streamlining. Re transmit the factory default until it starts work because it is well supported in Live 7 and 8.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the Korg PadKontrol have the lights be responsive to what's launched like the novation controller does? I've messed with settings so that buttons are fully illuminated as on/of switches, but I'd like to have feedback about what samples are triggered.

Try holding scene and pressing one of the pads in the tops row. each one is assigned and octave
