Basically vampires came out of the closet a couple of years ago in the show after a japanese company came out with synthetic blood that met their nutritional requirements so they tried integrating into society. But of course there's issues of racism and prejudice, no one trusts vampires, some want them separate some are more accepting yada yada. Sort of deals with prejudice with the in your face manner that 6ft under delt with life and death. I just don't think it pulls it off as well. Then there are other themes too. The main character is human but can read minds. One dude is some kind of weredog or something which I don't get yet.Every episode leaves me feeling like "meh...whatever". Still expecting it to get better for some reason.
