Pulsating Bassline
Re: Pulsating Bassline
lol :)) good one. my operator indeed speaks to me. (i try to build a voice-synth with it.)
nothin notable here.

I'm with Paq, it's two track lanes. One off beat sub bass that is sidechained with the kick to prevent the release from interfering with the kicks attack. The other line is a series of shorter notes sitting on top of this. Not sure of the exact rhythm but the tool room guys use the swing settings in GURU a lot in their tracks.

Re: Pulsating Bassline
it's easy:
the bass line is just something like that : --__ | -- __ | --__ | --__ .
non stop, and off course it's sidechained.
So for those who doesn't understand the drawing, it's just two short notes then the same note but 1 octave lower and longer. The ducking of the sidechain is on the first short note.
Cheers.

Thanks guys for all the great responses! I'm sorry to have made it somewhat confusing... I didn't even know where to begin with describing it, but I'm starting to think it's also two separate tracks -- one's the sub bass, and then there's an overlying mid-freq instrument -- sick rhythm though! Mark Knight amazes me with his productions...
You said the toolroom guys use GURU a lot? What exactly is that? And how do you work the swing function on it? I'm still new with quantization and using swing in my tracks...
