I did a similar thing to this not so long ago, but unfortunately we couldn't get any sync on it. A friend was doing a radio show and i was laying some bass n synths over his scratching/tracks of his show using a separate stream.

Unfortunately we had a 30 second delay between the two which at times was a right pain but it was interesting doing it..personally I'd love to do more...

As soon as they are done with Share....

And M4L....

And the Serato collab...

And by that time Live 9...

THEN maybe this will be their new subscription based service. It makes sense as something they'd add to Share as soon as they iron that out. It goes a lot deeper than just streaming audio in real time if you want to get extra stupid with your sets.
yeah. dont forget that we have to beta test the beta test of the beta tests. they might pioneer in this area but i will take lightyears before they do at this rate.

In Montreal, at the SAT (Society for Arts and Technology - www.sat.qc.ca) we are developing technology called PropulsArt (www.sat.qc.ca/propulsart) for performances over super fast networks. We can stream multichannel high quality audio and multichannel HD quality video for jamming. We had already done an experiment with the software last March where I was able to play with Pheek and Stefny in Montreal and we had Akufen and Deepchild in Vancouver. This was the first test so we only did a little ping pong back and forth, but it is looking promising.

We also had VJs from Montreal and Vancouver share a server for their video content where we had the public from both cities send us texts, pics and videos via cellphones. The Vjs would then mix live the content they received from the public.

We are planning to develop this further with various centres in Europe and South America. I am also working on a virtual jamming program for this technology, which will let people jam together in different cities by simply activating virtual objects in the air and moving these virtual objects around (like virtual speakers for example) by physically moving themselves on a real space mapped to a virtual "gameboard". We are hoping to use Ableton live as the core audio / music tool.

+1 Very cool 8)

Unfortunately I don't think Vstunnel uses actual realtime audio transfer. I think it just has quick file transfer ability & parties can chat back & forth w/ one another as you listen to others "sessions/audio"...
