Missing Live 4 serial number !!!

Has anyone else heard of new, boxed live 4 sets, not upgrades, going out missing the serial number ?

Has anyone heard of this ebay merchant ?

Ableton apparently does not care, as my emails have brought no reply whatsover.

I haven't heard of it...but I wouldn't go so far as to say that Ableton doesn't care. They are probably pretty swamped with things right now as LIVE 4 is fairly new and I bet they are getting more mail than they have since...the release of Live 3? I would have faith as they have always been pretty good at getting back. Perhaps a second, gentle reminder of an email would help....Feel for you though.

As for the 3rd movie, I have infact watched and downloaded it. I was just curious to know if this was common, or if it somehow didn't make it onto my disk. No worries really, just curious.

A serial number came with my upgrade pack too.

Hi KC, Hi you all,

our fulfillment company here in Berlin was a bit overworked and made some mistakes during assembling the first bunch of Upgrade Boxes. Therefore some of you received two serial numbers, one directly from Ableton and one in your Upgrade box.

In case this happened, you can use either of them to unlock your Live 4 and just delete the other one.

(Upgrade Serial numbers only work if an older full version of Live is installed on your system. If you uninstalled your old Live before, the server will ask for your old serial number before you are able to unlock Version 4.)

I have just taken delivery of the full boxed version of Live 4 (not upgrade) from Digital Villiage UK (14th May 2005) and I also cannot find my serial number anywhere !!??!! I have emailed both parties involved and I hope this can be sorted quickly and with no hassle....keep you posted.

ok, so clarionbusiness.

i bought my first keyboard through them, evo mk425c. it eventually got to my house, no problem, took a few days, whatever. they seemed like fine people with a bit of a lemme-sell-you-something-on-top-of-that streak, pretty standard. well, the mk425 had an issue with sending a midi note for key down, a different one for key sustain, and a 3rd for key release. needless to say, it sucked. after about 2 months of that crap i was looking to get it fixed. contacted m-audio, they say "sure, fixable, heres your rma number, now we need recipt and junk to verify that its a legit authorized dealer for warranty purposes, blah blah. hmm, no recipt from clarion, except on my debitcard statement. call up clarionbiznass. what sounded like the same person answered the phone each time i called, with different names each time, kind of off topic, but whatever... kind of shady. fought with them for days regarding their m-audio supplier status, eventually they give up and let me send the keyboard back to them, and they'll {quote} "send me a brand new one." so i cancel rma #1 and send it out, fast ups like. tracking number says received in 2 days, call and verify, yep, its there. wait and wait and wait. no reply. call them up like 10 days later, asking about my new keyboard. same guy, yet another name (i think this most recent one was shawn?) "umm... yep, that order's right here, we sent it out for service."

which is clearly not a new keyboard.

anyway, it took about a month to get anywhere with these guys. i had to go to my fiancee's grandfathers funeral at the exact same time that they had finally gotten my new keyboard in from m-audio, so during the 36 hours i was out of town, i had collected about 10 emails asking where the hell i was, and if i wanted my keyboard i had to tell them my address.

my address.

a: i bought the keyboard from them to begin with.
b: i just sent it to them from my house.
c: after i finally got my address to them and waited another week for their "expedited" shipping, (funny how my ups took 2 days.) the box i get has another box inside it. the box on the inside is from m-audio. it is postmarked to me. at my address.

they had my address looking at them and put it in a box.

all in all, i did get my keyboard back, and all is groovy. but it'll be a cold cold day in hell before i order anything from these amateurs again. i ordered reason 3 the day it came out from propellerheads, and even with the whole overseas ups fiasco i still had that in 8 days.
