well i'm glad everyone was awake after i posted that comment and thank you Tone Deft for always calling me out... i always seem to forget about the behringer bcr, but then again... i think behringer's products are for the most part, total shit. and for what that is.. it seems a little big. i realize that some of you do have success with the BCR, but if some other company made a controller like it, that wasn't overpriced, which would you have bought? i have seen the bitstream before as well, it's just more than is needed. Akai has, no doubt, heard a lot of suggestions from it's customers and i'm sure they have someone who looks through these forums. how many threads did we have here that suggested an add on for the APC with more knobs? those little laptop controllers are cute, really! But it's been done before... in two different colors! and going by Korg's tendencies, we'll see the nano series in pink soon. all i'm saying is there are a lot of pad controllers already and there a lot of keyboard controllers already, although i like that the MPK61 includes the 16 pads... finally someone is using their fucking brains. i want an inexpensive controller, preferably made by Akai, that has 32 knobs. it would only have to be as big as 4 of the control sections on the APC put together. approximately 8" x 10" overall. maybe they can figure out a way to link it to the APC or have the APC link through it so that the scrolling done on the APC sends a message to the knob controller to scroll as well. ahhh, pipe dreams!!!

And then there's this... http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM09 ... o-Monitors

Is Akai Pro going to start releasing everything Alesis has discontinued? http://alesis.com/prolinear820
The only difference i see here is the 123 dB SPL on the ProLinear 820s vs the reported 113 dB SPL on the RPM8s. oh and the paint job, too!
If they are going to start re-releasing everything, i would love to see the Alesis Ion synth back in production!

i have the evolution x-session uc-17. not a bad controller but no longer need a crossfader and for some reason, it was using the same midi cc's as my APC40 and i'm afraid that the uc-33 would do the same thing. plus don't need anymore faders. actually don't need another controller but i'm a gear whore so i might as well ask for something that makes sense for once.

You're pretty hard to please aren't you? I would buy the BCR again. That's why I got it, it's super cheap and does everything I need... I've had it for 3 years, dropped it, spilled beer on it, played dozens of shows with it, and it still rocks. If it somehow breaks, I can get another easily.

Why don't you just do a little research and try it out before writing it off?

I've got my eye on both the LPD8 and LPK25..

I didn't like the Korg models at all. I had expected the pads on the nanopad to work flawlessly with Drum Racks, but was wrong... I should have posted and asked first before buying... lesson learned.

These ones, I'd be surprised if they weren't supported natively through Live, since the 8 knobs seems to be in line with Live's macro mappings. The big question will be if the 8 pads cut it or not. The 8 pads on my Axiom are a joke as scrolling via Live skips 4 drum pads... Maybe there'll be another Live update to scroll 2 rows at a time instead of 3???

As for price... I wouldn't be surprised to see this priced similarly to Korg's, since it's obvious that they're competing with the Nano series.

Any financial guys on here know when the 2nd quarter ends/3rd quarter begins?? I really need more portable equipment, so I'm looking forward to testing.

and i'm the one that's short on tacos??? way to be misleading!

i highly doubt he's talking about the US government's fiscal year as that's not exactly what companies use to show release dates for products. i'm pretty sure they go by calendar year's quarters because how the fuck is the public supposed to know when a company's fiscal year ends and begins? and if you can find some link to prove me wrong.. by all means, call me out on that too!!!

They're not the same..

Generally the public goes by the release dates.

Companies talk about releasing products in fiscal quarters because their performance is measured in fiscal quarters, which is what investors go by.

I'll post links shortly... although I was initially to lazy to search in the first place.

Well, here is the most in-depth source so far... I'll look for more.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiscal_year

I guess Akai being late depends on which country's fiscal quarter they follow.

I certainly did not know that.
