When NI decided to let Komplete go at the same price, the decision was made for me. I think the APC looks incredible, and have no doubt I will get one before too long, but:

399 for Komplete > 649 (399 for APC + 250 to upgrade Ableton to the point I can use it)

That's what i'm thinking of as well.

Of course this is probably a greater commitment to Logic.

i bought Maschine,it's awesome with that "mackie control"emulation template.
plus all controls+names get displayed on it's two screens.

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

plus it's really a hands-on tool(like the apc-40 is)
with the 1.1 update,maybe we can now record external knob movements in those patterns.would be amazing with Kore 2

The faderfoxes are the only things tempting me away from the APC right now. They look freaking amazing. It's mostly the pre-mapped templates that appeal to me, they look incredibly well thought out.

But that clip launching grid...

2) A single (for starters) CDJ or Denon deck; or maybe one of the new midi controllers with similar type platter structure (are any of them good?)

I've sen a couple of others at BevMo, but can't remember the brands. I think I saw a Beck's?

I thought I saw a picture of one on the Stella Artois website once, but I just went back and don't see it.

Virgil's root beer makes them too (the best root beer in the world!)
