I will be sending out e-mails to all those who have entered the comp so as to clarify the mastering question; but the answer is that the winning remixes will be professionally mastered by a qualified sound engineer who works with the label :)

Feel free to do your own quick 'mastering' on the tunes you submit (e.g. slapping on a limiter to bring up the volume); but there is no need to worry about having to properly master the tunes on your own for release.

Cheers =)

nice, a proper and respectable label policy. :D

Indeed!

Generally, we'll ask the winners to submit WAV files with the following properties:
-24 bit
-44,100hz
-no dithering
-2 secs of silence before and after track
-at least 3dB of headroom

Also, to clarify: Barry and I will not be commenting on the remixes as they are submitted; rather, we will wait until the competition has ended (submissions must be made by Sept 1st 2009 @ 11:59pm) to announce the winners and provide artists with feedback on the tracks.

Cheers =)

ok so the track we submit before 1st of september can me mastered by ourselves, and then if we are selected we send a proper .wav no dithering, etc... for a proper mastering.
Make sense, thank you.
