If I didn't have East West Quantum Leap Silver Orchestra, I'd definitely consider it. It's really no different than the Gold Orchestra, other than the fact that the samples are 16bit. But they sound gorgeous, so I'm good to go. If not, I'd consider Live's pack for sure.

I haven't found enough useable about EIC2 to think about going balls to the wall. There are some really good sounds but nothing to jizz over.

Too expensive
+ like 9 or whatever number its at...

You've got to tweak params like a mutha to get those instruments sounding 'real'

Very true. I have the collection and I cannot get Ableton to give me help on how to use those macros. All they say is to play with it. I want something more substantial than that for the money!

I have asked that Ableton provide me with the ALS files (whatever) that was used to generate their demo song so that I can see how it was done. I am still having issues where I cannot get strings to sound right. Ableton has chosen to reject my request. I am not very happy that I spent so much money and I can't even use it properly.

Even though that is tempting, given my frustration, I'd really like to learn how to use it properly.

Had a peak at it and ended up buying NI session strings which TBH was all I needed - cheesy strings for the odd funky house track :)

That said, There is a viola in the EIC2 that when fed through a SPL Vitalizer Mk2T sounds really nice in solo.
Nothing to see here - move along!
