Thanks Mike for the vid. I'll have to check it out after work tonight. That totally sucks Looper's broken for some people. It still seems to be working fine for me (8.04) last I checked. :?

Mike, what do you mean by "spurious"? Random midi info?
Yes, that is what I mean-- it is not very likely, because multiple people are having the problem-- but somehow there is a mapping that you are not aware of, and then something set up as a remote controller is sending midi for that mapping. I noticed that when you map the tiny record, overdub, play and stop buttons, it is hard to see that a mapping is there.

I tried my foot pedal on an APC and SL25. then I tried it mapped to an APC button and then a SL key, all had the same effect.

I did notice that when I used the setting 'start and stop song' I would only get a click (Looper didn't start, it only clicked) as if Live started and stopped very quickly.

then I got engrossed on playing guitar through PSP Nitro (preset 19 is amazing) and forgot about it as I often do.

was it sending a note, or a cc? All my dealies were mapped using notes.

It needs to be toggled, not momentarily bonked.

APC and SL would be CC#s on the pedal input. APC pad would be a note, SL keyboard key would be a note.

I'll double check tonight.

thing is, it was working fine in the beta with the SL and I know I haven't changed that setting.

user error is always suspect in cases like this. :?

.
I get the click effect too using the multi function button - actually in my case it is Looper recording for an instant (and not recording anything) and going into play and/or overdub - very odd......anyway, will follow mike's lead vis a vis extra messages mapped to that pedal. AS you say, seemed fine in the betas......

The only thing that is "spurious" AFAICS is the link between the looper and song tempo.

At the moment I am having some success using the multi button with No quantization in looper, Start song and follow song tempo.

I have another instance of looper in the same set, that has no quant, start AND stop song, and set song tempo - but that is using the individual transport buttons and not ze big buttone.

Yeh, it sounds like it is all a case of the something being sent to the button as a momentary on/off really quick, so you advance directly from record to overdub.

When I was reading in other threads people were having problems, I sent a MIDI note out from my computer keyboard to a midi yoke type (loopBe) app, which was set up as a remote control, and put a midi monitor on the track. You might want to try this just for a sanity check to prove that *something* works :). Then all you need to do is get whatever you are pressing to act the same way as the computer keyboard midi note.

It might be useful to set up your APC to send midi to track, then back out to a yoke in the same way, through a midi monitor (you may need to un-set it as a control surface/remote controller). Click your footswitch/button/whatever and see what it is sending.

Mike, am going to eat my words on spurious.....good call on the midi monitor.
Seems like the button presses on the FCB in my setup, at least, don't always send one note on and one note off........even with a clear single press. Sometimes it is one on/off, sometimes two or even more. Soo have to look at my midi prefs or WTF is happening with the FCB.

Thanks

Don't have 8 yet and therefor don't have looper. So is this just a building and building thing? Say I want to mute something I did 4 takes/loops ago, can I do it? Can I then bring it back in later?
