Well, to Jif, I appreciate the heads up. I always try to be respectful in these places, and if I came off otherwise, my apologies.

I am merely trying to get what I can for this thing. As Jif noted, the economy isn't doing so great right now. I sold alot of gear before taking up living in an RV (including a poly evolver, which, as starving student astutely pointed out, I regret).

In any case, what I'd like and what I expect are different things and I think that after all this, it's apparent that if anyone wanted to pay less, I'd be willing to negotiate.

I just got into LA, and despite all the discussion, there haven't been any offers (even ridiculous ones), so for now, I keep the machine.

Thanks to all for having a look and taking part. It helped keep the post at the top of the forum for a while and for that I'm grateful. I'll be in LA for 24 more hours before moving on if anyone discovers a forgotten stash of cash. I'll be camping near Flagstaff AZ for a few days, and then down into the heat in Phoenix for a while.

To starving student: there's nothing as fun as running patterns in the machinedrum triggering the mpc.

and what about cars? what's a cherry '66 mustang going for these days? they originally sold for less than $3000.

i know those are totally different situations in both cases, but if he's hardly used this, it could be worth $1400 to somebody. not saying i'd pay it, but someone may. probably not from this forum now...

and if you were to buy a brand new one from analogue haven and were a california resident, you'd be paying 9.25% sales tax on top of that $1400 which is about $130 more.
at first I thought you were joking...

but then I realised you were serious.
