Akai Professional's Eric MacGregor says it here.

We're talking about the LPD8, the nano has no midi input for sure.

Yeah, there was talk of a firmware upgrade that could make the nanoKONTROL remember where you last were. Not feedback, but at least when you switched scenes and came back your buttons would still be lit up.

LPD8 looks cool, might have to get rid of the nanoPAD and scoop that up.

Its very sexy,...... one of the pads seemed to be slightly shy at first but that seems to have worn in now.

The unit is dead robust too, nowt flimsy about it.....Now I just need to find a pc keyboard that doen't rattle when I bash the pads!

Would have also been cool with more than 4 presets (seeing as it has 8 pads like?)

Mind you...... now I want a Launchpad! (combined mith my bCR2k, lpd8 & 61 note keyboard for some full-on win!!!)

Biggest win for me tho' is not buying the APC40 when it came out :D

How is it that you have one already and it's not even out yet?
Maybe it's just not out in Canada yet.

Don't forget to check out Korg nanoKontrol Myr for total win. It's the most amazing midi remote script for Live 8 yet.

Aha! Of course we all knew that but it's weird that the guy in the video says the opposite.
Some Akai Professional he is :)

^^ it's just like when you go into a store, they will tell you something that you later find out is wrong, or you already know it is wrong.. They just want you to buy it.

I thought I'd best reply to Akai showing them the advertising video that had me clammer to buy their new controller pad device that 'sends and recieves' midi data with my hard earned pennies.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-y-FJfjMIU 0:37 into the video

I also added that at least (when I have 150 bar to spare) I can buy the Launchpad.
