ill throw in my 2 cents, the only time i have ever had a problem with Live live, is when i accidentally created a midi loop and froze ableton
i have never had a crash occur from something that i would do in a live situation

Why would making a MIDI loop crash live? I guess I'll probably stay away from MIDI instruments and third party VSTi's Live but it doesn't help that a simple MIDI loop crashed Live, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

you're misunderstanding.
a midi loop means Live sends midi to a synth, the synth sends the data back to Live, Live sends it to the synth, the synth sends it to Live, on and on just like audio feedback. eventually Live crashes.
it's a fundamental problem with midi you have to watch out for.
c'mon man, you're whinging about Live and don't understand midi feedback loops?
/facepalm
user error. then they come onto the forum ranting that it's Ableton's fault and the rest of us have to wade through the threads.
so it goes. let us meditate upon these truths...

lol
i dont think that i am the only one with the problem...your userbase is just too "forgiving" to let you know in time when something is wrong...
its totaly stable ..just dont hit the start button twice by accident..it might crash and fry your harddisk than occassionally

Thanks Tone, you've helped me out a number of times and I appreciate it..
The thing I don't like about these forum's is all you faggots and you're lingo and your edgy little come backs.
I'm stoned half the time and I like to bring the comic relief into the forum bickering. Sometimes these forums remind me of a 4th grade bitch fest (my own edgy little comeback) and most of you probably love the smell of you're own shit (and the sound of you're cliche house music)

Shit like that makes it all worth it.
BTW, i'm not trying to bash on Live's stability. I guess I have just been influenced by all the bitching on this forum and I wanted to see what other peoples opinions were, but I couldn't get more than a few comments before shit got hijacked. Now someone's probably gonna fly this thread into the sears tower.

The forum is by not a reliable indicator for this.
Who knows if Live 7 may lead to problems on your setup, that are fixed in 8?
Cheers,
Dom
Is this seriously Ableton's stance on the matter? That its users aren't a reliable indicator of stability? If so that's really disappointing.
That having been said, as someone who had
ridiculous stability issues with Live 8 I've found the latest beta to be pretty solid. 90% of my crashes have (finally) ceased to occur.
