Thanks a million guys! And keep them coming if you know more!!
- PS, I bought my phone online thru my work discount. I didn't get a discount on the phone, but I did on the service (20%), and some off accessories.
Has anyone had a bitch of a time putting on a screen protector?!?
OMG I hate those things!!!

I love:
JR Hexatone Pro for weird, IDMish drumloops.
Jasuto for a little reactable-like fun.
TouchOSC: it's like a lemur on your phone. It uses Open Sound Control signals over WiFi. Must Have!

You don't need a screen protector, the iPhone already has a glass screen.

Kind of a scam if you ask me.

Unless you're like me and like to toy with the iphone while eating finger fulls of peanut butter.

Hexatone is actually on my Dock... lol
some things not already mentioned:
Dopplerpad is something to check out, too bad they don't have a Lite version. But it's a fun performance-oriented tool. Let's you write loops and mix between them on the fly, pretty slick.
They're coming out with a 3G S-only version of Technobox with another 303.
Aura is pretty awesome if you like ambient things. 4 evolving pads and some sound makers, great UI.
And non-music:
Jailbreaking:
I jailbroke my 3G S as soon as it was available via Purplera1n, but if you're on 3.0.1 you'd need redsn0w. Many guides online, but with apps like Categories, 5 icon dock, 5 rows and 5 columns, SBSettings and all it's lovely toggles I don't think I'd enjoy my iPhone as much as I do when it's jailbroken. 3G Unrestrictor is a nice thing to have if you want to download apps larger than 10MB or otherwise have reasons for apps to see 3G as wifi (Skype calls, anyone?). Winterboard for theming/sound changing. I have had to restore my phone once because I had a shady repository installed to Cydia and the apps on it were of questionable quality. I thought I was installing one app from a trusted repo and it was the cracked version from the shady one =/ Live and learn.
AppStore:
TweetDeck if you like Twitter and use Tweetdeck. Moyo, if you have a lot of friends with iPhones and want a blackberry messenger-like experience. It's free for now.
I'm sure there's more that I can't think of off the top of my head. If you're into drawing/painting, Layers or Brushes would be great to have.

listen - I've tried most of the apps mentioned here and basically beatmaker is the one that is most flexible and you really can make a tune sat in the dentists waiting room.
technobox is cool if you like rebirth or 303's
what I want to see though is an ableton app, now that would be cooooool

Bleep!BOX sounds pretty awesome. I might check it out. I like the concept of real-time sythesis, for live tweaking! ....
....Not unlike Korg DS-10, which is for Nintendo DS. Sublime user interface and a great (though typical) ds-10 sound. Well not just one sound, it's a complete MS-10 emulation which is good for unlimited timbres. Check my DS-10 Project, which is quite succesful:
http://www.myspace.com/ds10dominator . Talking about topic hijacking
What I also like about most handheld software is that it's idiot proof, you don't have to worry about clipping for example. It's just about having fun.

HAPLOME monome emulator!!! Free and amazing. It's a little buggy, but its all free so it's all good! Just remember if it goes offline with your computer, Command-TAB brings it right back!
AMBIANCE - 99 cents and sounds great
Peterson Strobe Tuner - 10 dollars, but the hardware is 200 and there is no difference.
Bebot
Melodica
TouchOSC
WIVI Band
Bowls
Air Mouse
Mujik
iRealBook
Do NOT buy Automap as it is incredibly bad.

Is there some sort of Tenori-On like app out there?
Hexatone Pro looks like it might be similar in that it has a unique interface.

just got back from the iStore with a 32Gb phone. I don't know what 'mr green' actually means but I think this is a time to use him.
