Those things sound insane, but so does the price, $14000 for a pair of headphones is crazy....

Any thoughts on these makes?

Which ones have you guys tested out?

ultimate ears and shure...

reason, they are established as 'standard' because of built and sound quality for stage use night for night out.

also 80-90 of monitor mixers, if you ever come to that level having one, will reference the monitor stage mix with more then likely one of those, therefor sending a 'good' mix to your pair.

if you hire IEM systems in most cases you will get a shure E3 or E4 with it, for the reasons i mentioned.

what is great about UE on top is that the cables are changeable without sending them to a service point.

one more last reason, the ear pops or any other item / periphery you get in plenty of 'generic' places all over the world,

the 'exotic' ones under those headphones might sound as good or even better, i don't know... but it gets also very 'exotic' if you need service or a part for them of any kind, keep that in mind.

any drummers around that could recommend IEM? looking for something to use with the shure psm 600 wireless.

UE the triplefi, but most important with IEM systems (the PSM 600 by the way great choice, do you know what you are doing or is it coincidence? just kidding, but really great system, though)***

is to get some custom molding (cca. 80 euros for a pair) the fitting is vital for the quality, if a IEM does not fit 1a for your ears you can have the best system in the world and it will perform absolute rubbish.

What about health issues? I am not talking about cranking up the volume and damaging the hearing, nor I am talking about hygiene. I am talking about ear drum perforation when pulling out too quickly the triple silicon flange. What is your experience?

i don't know, never anything like that remotely happened, the point is that if we supply the whole system including the headphones, then we never use the silicon pops, we only use special yellow foam pops, or the artist has it's own custom mold, which you should use anyway!!!

rather buy a level lower headphones and get a pair of custom molds (if your budget is tight), then super duper headphones with silicon pops that don't fit properly, the quality of the sound of the first solution will by by far better!! it is really to 60-70% about the fit how an in ear phone sounds.

those foam pops, are however way better then silicon and you can get them in packages i think of 10 or 20 in shops.
(we buy them in hundreds, though)

nice, i was just wondering... a shure PSM 600/700 is no toy.
