The founder of Ableton hates floating windows. Hates the Photoshop approach to interface design, to the point to where even two screens seems to be too much to him. :? It was actually a quote of his from an old interview I read, that the Photoshop approach was distasteful to him.
It attitudes like this that hold companies back!!

I think they had good intentions with this, but as Live grows up, it becomes more and more tedious to work in if you have access to two monitors. Reason eventually allowed users to 'tear off' the sequencer, and put it on another monitor etc. What I miss most working in Live is the ability to have a MIDI/piano roll editor on another screen. basically more than the arrange and sequencer windows, I wish the sub-windows could be torn off. With my luck if they ever buckle, they'll just allow Session and Arrangement Views on different monitors though, and i'll be stretching sub-windows constantly like I do now.

I think it'd be incredible to be able to see my tracks on the main screen, and set up a monitor for my drummer for his tracks and some visual feedback, whatever it may be, metronome blink, track volumes, etc..

i hate to use this be-all end-all post, but for this thing, max4live could help (and i will try to use it for driving external screens for more information, too).

but i'd love native multiscreen support (without hated floating windows, no problem there).

i'd espencially love to have an individual column + it's effects and all on an individual screen, never hidden, or so (when performing dj-like, seeing more than one wav is useful)

this is the only thing holding me back from switching from logic. How about looking at your track levels while in the arrange screen? In my opinion the only thing keeping this an amateur mixing option.
