Horse Rotorvator is one of the best albums of all time IMO. I wouldn't say Coil were in the same category as Whitehouse, they definitely are a lot more subtle in approach 99% of the time.
I'll check this out, but if they don't know Coils material, then the groups will probably butcher it.

I'm reasonably convinced that Coil was the best band. Period.
Therefore I will check this out. Hopefully it's cheaper than what I'm used to paying for official Coil releases.

Thanks for posting this. First thing I ever released as "synnack" was on a comp that was a Coil tribute after Jhonn died.

Right. They were just kind of connected to Whitehouse I guess via the collabarotioans with Nurse With Wound and Steven Stapleton.

I just saw TG in Chicago with Genesis Breyer P-Orridge herself. Look who is sleeping ;). The concert was extremly loud but great!

I thought it was pretty cool of the old man to not even try to fake it. When he wasn't playing for more than 30 seconds in a song it was time to kick back.

Also, OT of Coil, but Cosey was amazing IMO, my favorite noise guitar player, and in my top five guitar players of all time.

Well I'm not sure if she can beat Pat Metheny or Clapton, but her style is definitely very special ... :).

Man yeah ... old times, heh. let's start another post on favorites during this time ...

I would take her playing any day over those two. AFA technical guitar greats, I would go with Frip and Gilmore. I would say she has the feel of Gilmore, but obviously not the technical chops and training.

As a Coil fan, I say "yuck" to this compilation.

It looks almost obscene to me, and like the opposite to everything Coil ever stood for. I can't believe Sleazy fell for it ; maybe because of a lack-of-mainstream-recognition-complex ?!

By the way, how come that Throbbing Gristle is not on the "artists" section of Ableton? No one has ever done more advertising for Live than they did…

Oops sorry, this was a mistake. And I do not intend to make advertising, just informing, and discussing.
Any way to move a topic ?

I listened to the previews and I like it enough to buy it. But then I realized it would be around $40 after conversion and shipping to get it to the U.S. I always prefer physical releases, but in this case, is there any chance there will be a less expensive digital-only release?
