I read about these new PowerBooks this morning. I'd be very interested to see how the addition of L3 cache increases performance!

I use to have a 550 machine (from 550/667) series and now have a 667 from the 667/800 series.
The difference in live is absolutly amazing. Everything is smooth as ice now, even when reaching 90% in OS X.
On the 550 everything would fall apart as soon as i hit 50%
If you can, then get your hands on these models.
Brighter, more res screen = more tracks
Audio in
bigger drive
I can run combinations of effects now which i could never even attempt before. The cache makes you feel like you are moving from a 300Mhz machine to a 667.
BTW, my clock speed is 666Mhz... thatt old Steve Jobs eh?

SongCarver,
great to hear that you are satisfied with the 667. I shall seriously re-consider my laptop decision (which was in favour of the Sony 16-inch screen Vaio) now - because when I compared them directly, the TiBook's performance seemed sluggish (to say the least) - I'm talking about performance meter readings of 50% on the Sony and 100% on the G4 at the same bar in the same song.... Weird
