yup, i can share that.

i just was at the netaudio featival in berlin, all live acts not DJs and nearly all of them used ableton live.
funny thou... the musically most interesting act (ok, that's a matter of taste) but also by far the best sounding one used fruity loops, that just shows again that it all boils down to talend and production skills and the choice of tool is just personal prefrences such as GUI and functions.

am i missing something? how do you define a setup with eg. a TR909 or an electribe midi controlled by live???

Orbital are using Ableton Live as their main hub on their latest tour.
I dont know how much of their previous output has had the "Live" treatment though.

That wasn't a dig at you, just the phrase "real drum machines," which I've used myself. How far we've come...

for me, the artist that made me fully want to move to ableton is deadmau5, using it along with some fun gear. i know he's hated in this forum from some group, but he's still a "famous artist", and he uses ableton, and puts good publicity into it.

yes indeed, that must look pretty unusual for someone who have years and years of old school techniques under his belt..

i realize sometimes technology really screw up decades of habits, but also that can open up totally new windows... and i think that right now we are in the middle of a constant transition... i can't imagine what will be all this world in 10 years from now.

deadmau5 uses Live, in his YouTube vids at least. Lots of very nice analog modulars as well.

Max Bygraves and I think Bing Crosby used it as well.

apparat, modeselektor, skrillex, dntel, datsik

Justice use Ableton for their live acts and Cubase in the studio.
Hopefully I don't have any Cubase haters here......

Many use more than one app. They use one for production and Live for gigs.
