..any decent mappings / creative ideas as to best uses for this little thing?

my setup's dead simple: i play a midi guitar and use the pedal for modulation for instant daft punk sickness.

but i'm dry on creative ideas for the buttons (besides regular control of guitar amp plugs)

edit: just read the title is about the use of LOOPER.. oh well if you dont mind my derail we can discuss

Under control surfaces I don't see the Express listed. This is where the input-output you mentioned is. Right?

I am experiencing a problem with the FBV's usb port

compare it with any other usb gear you have - there is a small piece of plastic keeping the 4 prongs of the usb connection in place in the fbv this is missing (at least it is on mine)

the unit worked fine for a while but now the smallest movements break the connection to the computer - i have to use loads of tape to keep it in place - have a look on the Line 6 forum - others are experiencing the same thing

so my advice is to check the usb port before you buy

I'm pretty new to Live, but am very interested in learning more about foot pedal options. Seems like the FBV is a good alternative to the Behringer. It's been mentioned that the pedal connects via USB. Does that mean I could just plug it into a USB port of my computer, or do I need to run it through a controller or interface?

The FBV Express works great for me because I usually have a guitar in my hands and I can control the transport (play, record, stop) with my foot. All you have to do is plug it into one of our usb ports it does not require an audio interface, that would be for your instruments and microphones.
