I think it's a subconscious thing. If the sun is all in your face outside or through a window there's the feeling of "Hey, I should be outside frolicking!" even if that isn't your thing, and if it isn't your thing you might even find it irritating. When it's dark or dingy outside there's the feeling of "Nothing else to do. Fuck it, I'm posting up and working on shit."

Come and visit us in Buffalo - we have a "winter weather advisory" going on right now! There is sooo much art and music here, I think in part because there is not so much else that can be done during the long winters. Well, except drink beer (or jam for beer drinkers).
