Really well done mate, very impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing the pics and videos. Can you say something about what kind of layout you will use for all the buttons and pots? Or will that change all the time?

I began the Live & m4L parts documentation, if you're interested:
http://www.julienbayle.net/diy/protodeck/#m4L

VERY soon a the whole logic I follow.
it only fits my need.
but it could be useful for people who wants to dig further in Live API, max etc.

After 8 months working on it? Sure you are...

Just kidding. Bet you can't wait to wear out those knobs and buttons. Have fun.

Happy for you Julian !!

You are pretty discret on you Ableton template. That's 60% of the challenge. When you are sure of everything you'll need (FX:eq, kill eq, sends, ducking fx, Cues, led feedback, dummy clip, loop racks, backward, master fxs, etc ), I easy to focus on the hardware :) I'll be really happy to know exactly, what did you use in your personnal Ableton template :)

Meanwhile ...
I created my work flow around an DDM4000 and an Xone 1D. It's open to get a other 1D later. It's an 4 tracks based template. I will use it for a while an post the details later :) The big part advantage, is that it will be easy to customize it for everyone an many controller !

Here are the features for all 4 tracks :
LED feedbacks (like Tempo 1-2-3-4, EQ Kill switch, Bypass All processing )
Loop ON/OFF with custom Length
Ducking on the fly (ON/OFF Led feedback)
Backward on the fly(ON/OFF Led feedback)
SmartMixer (Custom crossover ... bass management, Belvario, Moldover style) (ON/OFF Led feedback)
etc.

Have fun :)

if you would have checked my website, you would have see 2 things:
- I'm not very discrete
- the last part at the bottom of the page is unfinished but updated since yesterday evening ( live set description part + m4L part)

Nice way you use too :)
all the best with your nice set,

This is all way too complicated for me — at least for now — but I admire your sharing ethics. Thanks, no doubt someone will find inspiration in your project.
