It looks like they know about it. I guess you'll just have to wait until the next bugfix, or go back to 8.0.9.

Hi guys, you should be able to use rex files if you redownload / reinstall 8.1. Please let me know if this works for you. There was a wrong installer on the website for the first few hours. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have a question regarding REX files... You can't warp those files like the audio ones right? ¬¬
