you snowboard every day?
Sorry, I meant I do one (or a few) of those things every day, not all of them. But yes, I snowboard a lot in the winter, yea for season's passes.

Dude, absolute best advice you've ever given.
Probably because I'm psyching myself up for a health nut kick, maybe lifelong.
Thought about it forever, time to act.

My advice is find a few instruments you simply love playing, learn a new one etc. 8)

Back in May I started doing Taekwon-Do. I am 2 weeks away from my summer break. Biggest thing I have noticed is that this time last year I was loathing all of the whiney brats (students) and their painful parents, and it took me about 6 weeks to recover good head space. I made zero music during my summer break last year. Right now, I am feeling great. Totally into what I am doing and have none of last years animosity. I am lining up things to do musical and family wise. I can't wait!!! :D I highly recommend including a regular and significant physical activity in your routine. I am sure that this was the catalyst for change for me.

I have found that trying to do a cover of a song is a good way to go......but.
Do the cover in a certain style that is opposite of what style the song is in.

For instance about a month back I had the thought of "What would a lounge verison of "Head Like a Hole" by Nine Inch Nails sound like?" Although this had been done before I attempted it in my own way.

I only did a verse and then extracted the best parts (beat, sounds) and created my own song from it.

The end result sounds nothing like the original song at all.

Also, just write a melody or chord progression. Examine the elements of it, and reverse it. Has workd for me before.

He's lifting up his gut to dodge an attack(he's a character from Samurai Shodown-a fighting game).

I recomend listning to music. The moment i stop listning to music for my own pleasure, making music stops being fun and i can't do shit.

.
Also have things to do. The sundays i sleep to 4 and is just home alone i cant make anything. Yesterday me and the girl went to the studio after 5 hours of school and stayed there for 10 hours straight! Made a killer track from scratch.

Remember to eat and drink when you are in the studio. Work with someone. Get a girlfriend that is into studiotime, music and electronics. Have fun :-)

Haha - that sounds great - can we hear your Head Like a Hole version?

Like I said I only did a verse of that cover so it was never completed and the original song that came out of it sounds nothing like "Head Like a Hole"
